Sports Corner is Qatar's leading local retailer of world-class sports and lifestyle brands, operating since 1979. With everything from fitness and activewear to the latest in sports technology, Sports Corner has something for everyone. They operate 13 stores across Qatar.

CHALLENGES

The Challenge

In early 2021, Sports Corner wanted to become the best sports retailer in Qatar, especially after signing the FIFA World Cup 2022 sponsorship deal. As a subsidiary of Blue Group (which also includes Adidas), they needed new branding and retail concepts that meet international standards.

An international designer created the new design concept; Intelligent Design was brought in to ensure the concept could be executed in Qatar while adhering to local laws and regulations.

SOLUTIONS

Our Approach

ID's architectural division collected data, analyzed existing shops, and coordinated with the international designer. We handled all local consultancy, sample approval, procurement, and fixture/furniture manufacturing. Our team managed all electromechanical services on-site.

Despite COVID-19 challenges including shipment delays and supplier lockdowns, we overcame all obstacles to deliver the project on time.

RESULTS

The Outcome

In just 45 days, we completed shop drawings, production drawings, and released major orders. We double-checked all audio/visual tools and created one-of-a-kind customized light fittings that required extensive research and development. Installation was completed flawlessly in a very short timeframe.
